 October 01 Drum Lessons Postponed at North Berwick Drum Lessons at North Berwick have been postponed for the time being due to a low turn out there.  July 13 New Term Hey Drumsters..... New term at Tranent starts on Friday the 7th of August at the Loch Centre. For North Berwick students the first day back will be Monday the 17th & you can enrol now by filling in an enrolment form at our "Enrolment & Information Section". In addition to our drum kit classes we will be starting group percussion Taster Sessions which will be great fun & open for all ages. Hope you all enjoyed the Annual Drum Bash & well done to you all for making it a great day! Special thanks go to our helpers on the day which are Mr & Mrs Haig, Mr & Mrs Watters & Riddlel Fiddles who helped to make the event run smooth & was much appreciated.
I would also like to thank Riddel Fiddles who gave up their free time to join us & provided us with some enjoyable performances! Best of luck to them for their up & coming Canadian tour.

Upbeat June 21 Drum Bash 2009Hey Drumsters.....
End of term is nigh & we finish with the Annual Drum Bash this Saturday (27th) which will be held at the Melrose Corn Exchange, Melrose where Upbeat students will be performing before being presented with their Rockschool certificates!!
Doors open at 1pm & students should arrive no later than 12.30pm. This year our special guests are fiddler group "Riddell Fiddles" who will be entertaining us between performances. Tea, Coffee & Cake will be on sale with proceeds raised going to the Riddell Fiddles group to help fund their up & coming Canadian tour.
Tranent students should still attend lessons as normal this Friday for their last day of term.

  June 02 BORDERS DRUM BASHHey Drumsters...
Borders Drum Bash & Rockschool Presentations
Lessons are as per usual up to the end of term drum bash which is on Saturday the 27th June from 1pm at the Melrose Corn-Exchange. Students will all do a short performance followed by the Rockschool certificate presentation for students who sat their exam.
I am pleased to announce that music group Riddell Fiddles will also be perfoming some tradional tunes on the day which I'm sure you will all enjoy. Teas & coffees will be served by donation with all proceeds going to the Riddell Fiddles group for their trip to perform in Canada. Link: http://riddellfiddles.co.uk/

 May 27 ROCKSCHOOL EXAMSHey Drumsters...
As you will be aware this Saturday is the Rockschool exams for Upbeat students with East Lothian Students attending the Edinburgh Exam Centre & the Borders students sitting their exam at St Mary's.
East Lothian students please remember that this Friday is a revised timetable in preperation for the exam which I have emailed about & handed out details last week. Melrose students please remember to come along at the time stated for your lesson before going in to sit the exam.
Best of luck to everyone & remember to take your Rockschool book to the exam!!

New term starts on Friday the 24th of April for Tranent students with Melrose classes starting on Saturday the 25th of April. The Drum School is starting new classes at both venues after the Easter break with details following soon for those who have already signed up for these.

 March 22 OLIVER TWIST 2Hey Drumsters.... Here are some pics from the dress rehearsal of "Oliver" that I was playing in along with Musical Director Jeremy Nicklin & the fantastic musicians from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama. The cast were amazing & I really enjoyed the challenge.....playing in an orchestra is definitely a worth while experience!! Thought you might like to know that I have been asked to do the drumming in the band pit for the Musical "Oliver Twist" next week but this will not effect any lessons. The musical is being staged at St Mary's Prep School, Melrose & will be on both afternoons & evenings until Thursday. I used to do a lot of work like this & really enjoy the challenge & the atmosphere in a theathre setting.....should be a blast!!
